Investing.com -- President Donald Trump claimed on his social media platform Truth Social "We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran," drawing attention for his use of "we" despite the U.S. not officially being involved in combat operations against Iran.

In his post, Trump praised American military technology, stating that Iran has "good sky trackers and other defensive equipment," but that it "doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ’stuff.’" He concluded by saying, "Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA."

Trump’s statement comes amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran. Israeli officials reportedly believe the U.S. will eventually join the conflict to target Iran’s underground uranium enrichment facilities.

Currently, the U.S. has limited its involvement to helping Israel defend against incoming missiles but has not participated in offensive operations against Iran.

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance addressed the Iran situation on social media platform X, stating that President Trump has been "amazingly consistent, over 10 years, that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon." Vance explained that the president had encouraged his foreign policy team to reach a deal with Iran on this issue.

Vance clarified the distinction between civilian nuclear power and uranium enrichment, noting that Iran could have civilian nuclear power without enrichment but rejected this option. He pointed out that Iran has enriched uranium "far above the level necessary for any civilian purpose" and has been found in violation of non-proliferation obligations by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The Vice President defended the president’s approach, describing it as showing "remarkable restraint" while focusing on protecting American troops and citizens. Vance acknowledged public concerns about foreign entanglements but expressed confidence in the president’s judgment regarding any potential further action against Iran’s uranium enrichment program.

In a follow up post several minutes later, Trump said, "We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin."

Trump later added, "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!"
